Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. The promoter is: Dudley Registration Services, Dudley MBC.
  2. Both parties must be free to marry and able to produce the prescribed evidence as required by law to prove identity, nationality, age, capacity and residency. If either party is unable to provide the evidence required the prize will be withdrawn and awarded to another couple.
  3. At least one of the parties must reside in the Dudley Borough, evidence of this will be required when giving notice.
  4. Employees of Dudley Registration Services or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
  5. The winning couple must each give a notice of marriage at their local register office by 22 nd January 2016, paying the statutory fee of £35 each.
  6. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

  8. Closing date for entry will be midnight on 4th January 2016. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  9. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  10. The winning couple will be notified on 14th January 2016. An email and/or letter will be sent as well. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  11. DMBC reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’ s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  12. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  13. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  14. Winners will be chosen as a result of a popular vote conducted via DMBC website and verified by DMBC from a shortlist chosen by panel of judges appointed by the Promoter.
  15. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  16. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  17. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by [English] law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [England].
  18. The winning couple agrees to the use of their names and images in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  19. The winning couple will be displayed on the DMBC website and in promotional material used by the registration service.
  20. The winning couple will be required to take part in promotional media that might be available via the press, radio and TV including coverage of the marriage ceremony.

Prize terms and conditions

Contact details for the winning couple will be passed to each of the prize givers to agree details once both parties to the marriage have given their notice of marriage

  • First marriage ceremony at Thomas Robinson Building is to take place on Saturday 2nd April 2016 at 1pm, £360 ceremony fee paid by DMBC. Also includes a DVD recording of the ceremony worth £80 including the option to broadcast live on the internet and personalised invitations for sending to your guests, confetti cones and order of ceremony leaflets (value £65). Winning couple will be required to pay £35 each statutory notice fee when they give their notice of marriage at their local register office before 22nd January 2016.
  • Bridal make-over is provided by La Belles Professional Hair Services and will take place at your home or hotel room. Make-over is for the bride's hair and make up only, including a makeup and hair rehearsal, total package value £289.
  • Garden Time Florist will supply bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids up to the value of £150.
  • Hire of a complete outfit for the groom, valued at £90 will be provided by Stephen Allen Menswear subject to their usual hiring terms and conditions.
  • Georgina Scott Bridal Shop will supply a bridal gown of the bride's choice up to the value of £1,000. If a gown above this value is chosen the winner can opt to pay the extra amount.
  • will create a tiara or headpiece as agreed with the bride with coordinating jewellery to compliment her chosen bridal gown. A crystal and pearl coordinating buttonhole will be created for the groom.
  • Rays of Cradley will collect the bride from her home in a Rolls Royce 1933 Sedanca and take her to the Thomas Robinson Building for the ceremony. Afterwards the car will take the newlyweds to their reception venue. Rays of Cradley normal terms and conditions will apply. Maximum of 4 persons can travel in the car, no children under 3 years old. Maximum distance for the Rolls Royce is five miles.
  • Love and Cherish Events will provide a professional DJ for the evening reception at the Copthorne Hotel from 7pm to 12am to make the party go with a swing and a candy cart stocked for 100 guests to enjoy.
  • Occasional Cakes of Kingswinford will supply a two tier sponge cake worth £290, design to be agreed with the couple.
  • Midland Photographic will capture the day taking up to 250 photographs from the bridal preparations to the wedding breakfast. Images will be provided on a disk for printing etc.
  • The Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill will host the wedding reception in their Faraday Restaurant providing a three course wedding breakfast for 40 family members and friends to celebrate with the lucky couple. The celebration can be extended into the evening if the couple wish to purchase an evening buffet. Please note that no drinks are included in this package.
