Helping local businesses find new talent to support growth

The Black Country Impact helps local businesses recruit the people they need to succeed and grow. This project is helping thousands of young adults, including delivering access to a wide range of people that suit the needs of local businesses.

The project provides services such as coaching of young adults, aged 16 to 29, in the workplace and even facilitates customised training to address any in-work needs to support the young adult to retain their placement or job offer.

Black Country Impact is in a unique position to have a wide range of influence within local recruitment across the Black Country, and as such is helping businesses overcome the barriers to finding the right local people.

The project is determined to tackle the barriers that may be preventing Black Country businesses recruiting local people. This includes brokering of the right opportunities between young adults and the business.

The benefit to local businesses includes an ability to work in partnership to identify the key skills that are needed to fulfil vacancies and ensure individual young adults receive pre-employment training to meet these needs. Black Country Impact builds upon partnerships with employers to strengthen their ability to employ young adults.

The project includes providing businesses with a programme of tailored support, this involves an account managed service to help with recruitment. The Black Country Impact ultimately gives local businesses access to the best employability service.
