Services for people who are Deaf, hearing impaired or have a dual sensory loss

Dudley maintains a register of people that are Deaf, hearing impaired or who have a dual sensory loss.

The Deaf Support Service aims to enable hard of hearing, Deaf and dual sensory impaired people to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

There is a Duty Officer available between 10am and 1pm Tuesday and Thursday at Queens Cross Network, Wellington Road, Dudley, DY1 1RB. Outside these hours, messages can be left at reception or using the contact options below. We will come back to you soon afterwards in order to help you with your query.

Planned appointments are available either at the centre or if you are unable to travel, within your own home.

If you wish to, you can complete the self assessment form which is downloadable at the bottom of this page and return back to the address detailed on the form, we will review this and contact you accordingly. Please note that the form is a PDF document which needs to be downloaded to complete.

The resource room has specialist information and a display of assistive environmental technology.

Text Relay Service

To use the service, customers dial 18001 and then the number they wish to contact. The call will then be answered by both the call recipient and a text relay assistant who will help relay the conversation.

The service also enables calls to be made from anywhere in the council to a textphone user via text relay, again without any special equipment.
