Dudley's Assisted Living Centres are an important resource for people, who may be struggling to manage at home and their carers living in Dudley. Please note that due to the Covid-19 outbreak the centres are closed. For information, or support call 0300 555 0055.

Located in two adapted centres, Coseley and Brierley Hill; we have fantastic facilities with a permanent display of equipment for assessment and demonstration.  We offer demonstrations and trial use of equipment within everyday settings such as kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. If you are assessed as having an essential need for any of our equipment it will be loaned to you, free of charge until you no longer require it.

The centre and what to expect

A member of staff will greet you on arrival and take you to our waiting area on the ground floor (a lift is available if required). Our Occupational Therapy team will then meet with you to offer a full assessment, information and independent advice to determine the best assistance and equipment for you.  On some occasions it may be necessary to also visit you in your home for a more detailed assessment.

Please visit the Adaptations pages for more information.

Our rooms and equipment

Bathing is often the first problem people encounter. We offer the facility for your to try (safely and fully clothed!) a range of bathing equipment including a swivel bather, raised toilet, toilet frame, bath board and seat and shower equipment.

We can demonstrate a range of equipment that enables you to transfer in/out of bed including leg lifters, bed levers and commodes.

A wide range of smaller aids to assist in feeding, cooking and kitchen mobility are available for you to try and we can provide information on where to purchase them. For example: kettle tipper, perching stool and trolleys.

We have a fully operational lift and vertical lift for you to try, and can also provide information on grab rails and through floor lifts.

We also have a range of mobility equipment for you to try for mobility around your home.

For more information we recommend reading our Independent Living brochure. This gives you detailed information on the full range of services available to help keep you safe, secure, happy, well and independent in your own home, including how to return to independence after a period of illness or hospital stay.
