Dudley Council the historic capital of the Black Country
Dudley Skyline

We produce an Adult Social Care local account or annual report every year. The account helps residents to find out about the performance and future plans for adult social care services in the borough. The latest published local account is available below.

Every year we work with organisations and partners to make sure that they produce an open, honest and transparent account of the previous year's activity. The report, which covers the last financial year, states how the council has performed as a provider and commissioner of adult social care services.  The report also includes plans for the future from each of the key service areas, as well as real stories of people who have received adult social care and comments from people about their experiences.

Why have an adult social care annual report?

Local and self regulation

  • Councils are responsible for their own improvement
  • The annual report process should have a strong focus on citizens and carers, their feedback, and how they can help define excellence
  • Sharing data and information in an open and transparent way for the purposes of local accountability and citizen empowerment in decision making
  • Adult social care services encompassing the wider health and well being agenda
  • All councils should follow the Adult Social Care Operating Framework

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) will undertake safeguarding inspection activity only if requested by the Secretary of State or ADASS (Association of Directors of Adult Social Services).
