Dudley Children and Young People Alliance (CYPA) provides the overall leadership and integrated accountability for delivery of improved outcomes for children and young people in Dudley, and their effective transition to adulthood.
It is the overall Alliance between all those agencies who play a part in improving outcomes for children and young people in the borough. The CYPA represents a new way of working together and in collaboration with children, young people and families.
The Alliance is responsible for strategic leadership and vision, the identification of shared priorities, as well as for resource allocation, strategic coordination and managing performance. It also has specific responsibility for delivering and monitoring the priorities for improvement set out in the Dudley Children and Young People’s Alliance Strategy (see below).
The vision of the Alliance is that:
Dudley is a place where children and young people thrive
The key principles are that the Alliance, and organisations which are part of the Alliance will:
Raise children and young people’s aspirations and create opportunities for them to achieve
Enable children and young people to have a voice
Work with children and young people to keep them safe and healthy
Work with children and young people when they need extra help to ensure they get the help they need.
Working together as an Alliance means that members agree to work together in a spirit of co-operation to advance common goals. This includes:
Every Board member is an equal and active partner and will work collectively together.
The interests of the Alliance have precedence over those of individual organisations and members.
The Alliance will have a relentless focus on improving outcomes for children and young people and is committed to demonstrating the impact of this work.
Joint commissioning of services will be encouraged wherever this enhances coherence and improves efficiency.
The Alliance reports to the Dudley Health and Wellbeing Board.
