Learning Disability Week Events and Videos

Learning Disability Week 2021 takes place from 14-20 June. To celebrate, we have created a programme of events to help you meet our team, learn more about the services available and connect with local support groups.

Monday 21 June

  • 9.30am  10.30am Assistive Technology Session

Run by Dudley’s telecare service, this live session provides a general overview of telecare, who they are, what they offer and how to refer. The session will include case studies and a Q&A.   • 2.00pm – 3.15pm Coppice Lodge Dudley – What we offer followed by Question and Answer session

Tuesday 22 June

Learning Disability Week Videos

Self-advocate group, Dudley Voices for Choice, have created a series of videos for people with learning disabilities. Covering everything from clubs you can join in the local area to helping you to understand your rights.

  • Hear Lauren, Chris, Mac and Melanie talk about their experience at the Dudley Olympics club. People with learning disabilities can come along, make new friends, keep fit and join in a variety of sports and events.
  • DVfC share their thoughts around living with a label.
  • This video clearly explains exactly what rights people with a disability have.
  • DVfC share how people with learning disabilities can approach decision making.
  • Dudley Voices for Choice and Dudley Safeguarding Partnership answer the questions we all want to know the answers to about DNAR’s (Do not attempt to resuscitate).
