Ofsted defines childminders as 'individuals looking after children on domestic premises, which is not the home of any of the children being cared for'.

Childminders must be registered with Ofsted if they look after children aged under 8, for more than 2 hours in any 1 day. If you are interested in registering as a childminder please see 'childminding - is it for you?'

As part of your ongoing continual professional development and to meet Ofsted minimum standards you will be required to access training covering a range of subjects. The Early Years Foundation Stage and Childcare Professional Development programme offers targeted training opportunities to childcare providers in the Dudley Borough. Why not take a look at the training on offer for registered childminders.

HMRC now offer online training packages and webinars to support newly registered and existing childminders with their responsibilities relating to self employment. For more information see the links below.
