The Council will aim to enhance and maintain the quality of the landscape outside residential areas with regards to trees and woodlands.
The urban forest includes trees and open spaces beyond street trees and formal parks. Green Belt open spaces and Landscape Heritage Areas are important links between residential areas and the wider countryside, within which tree and woodland cover forms a vital part.
The Council will continue to support the enrichment of natural areas within the Borough in partnership with various local and national organisations, and as a sole agent. Through the Black Country Millennium Forest we have undertaken tree planting and woodland management schemes and we encourage such work by landowners and community groups.
