The Virtual School for LAC provides training to all professionals who work with looked after children.

A review of training provision is currently underway with a view to offering high quality, relevant workshops and training sessions designed to:

  • raise awareness of issues relating to the educational needs of looked after children and
  • develop colleagues’ specialist skills and knowledge to enable them to help raise the attainment of looked after children

The Virtual School staff will deliver a proportion of the training. Specialists will also be invited to speak or run specific sessions when appropriate.

The programme for schools for 2015-16 is available to download from the bottom of this page.

Please note that the Designated Teacher Training Sessions for the summer term have now been replaced by the ePEP Overview Sessions.

A new programme of training will also be offered to Council staff and foster carers.

E-safety and technology related training for Foster Carers will continue to be offered. Find out more about E-Safety and technology training.

Further details of training will be posted on this page when it is confirmed or contact the Virtual School the Virtual School if you require any further information.
