One of the aims of the project is to encourage people who work in the area to consider alternative modes of travel and use the car less on their journey to work. This could mean to either car share, cycle, walk or use public transport once or twice a week.
Dudley Council is urging local businesses to be part of this project and nominate a travel champion to encourage their staff to travel actively and sustainability.
The Active Travel Partnership will work with local businesses and organisations to identify the alternative travel options available in the Brierley Hill area and support employees to make small changes to their travel patterns.
There are many benefits to be gained from being active in the way you travel. By walking, cycling, using the bus, train or car sharing, we can all become healthier, make our streets safer, the air cleaner and Brierley Hill area a better place to live, work and relax.
All businesses in the area are invited to be part of the project as there are many benefits in being involved.
To get involved please contact us using the details below.
Staff will be asked to complete an initial travel to work survey (see example in the related documents section below) followed by one at the end of the project. The surveys will help assess people’s journeys to work, their willingness to change to alternative travel modes and the success of the project.
