Many people lead busy lives and often using the car to go about their daily routines is the easiest and quickest option.

As part of this project, the council wants to encourage people to consider using the car less, even if it's just for one journey a week, and consider alternative greener modes of transport.

To get the whole family involved there have been a number of community events in the Brierley Hill area which will include information on how to take care of bikes, organised walks and cycle rides and family cycle training.

If you would like to get involved in the community events please contact us using the details below.

Investment has also been made in creating new active travel corridors in the community which will make it easier for people to get around on foot or on their bike.

Consider the benefits:

Fewer cars on our roads will mean reduced pollution and improved air quality in the local community as well as easing congestion for the local buses which would improve their service

New and improved walking and cycling routes will make it easier to get in and around the Brierley Hill area.

It will lead to improved safety on our roads and access to schools and places of work

More walking and cycling means a healthier you
