The Parks and Green Space Strategy was adopted by Dudley Council on the 17th June 2009.
This Parks and Green Space Strategy is also referred to as Dudley Council’s Green Space Audit. It was also previously referred to as the Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) 17 Audit, however that guidance has now been superseded by the provisions of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), in particular Section 73 of the NPPF.
The purpose of the Strategy is to assess the existing quantity (e.g. how much green space is currently found in the Dudley Borough), the current quality, public accessibility level and distribution of the borough’s parks and green spaces.
Consultation was undertaken between 23rd February 2009 and 6th April 2009 on the draft Strategy and the responses and comments received through this were used to inform the final document.
