Event guidance and application forms

An introduction to holding an event. Thousands of borough residents and visitors enjoy a wide range of public events on offer in the area every year.

The council encourages and welcomes the hosting of events across the borough and we want to help you run a safe and successful event.

The event organiser is responsible for all aspects of the event and needs to consider the wellbeing of attendees and also the impact and potential inconvenience the event may cause for pedestrians and traffic not attending the event.

The comprehensive event application form below is a step-by-step guide to all aspects of hosting an event of any size.

Before completing the full event application form you can let us know about a forthcoming event by completing a two-page notification of intended event form.

Your form will be reviewed by the events team and you will be advised about the next steps.

What happens after I send my event application?

Your event application form will be considered by the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) which is made up of police, fire, medical and council staff. Their role is to ensure you run a safe event and will advise on any issues that you may need to consider further.
