Leisure centres updated information - 17 May 2021

The leisure centres are open for selected activities. From Monday 17 May additional activities can take place in the centres, including fitness classes at Crystal and Dudley leisure centres and The Soft Play Suite at Crystal. From Tuesday 1 June, Crystal will re-open it's squash and table-tennis facilities and Cafe Crystal. Dudley will re-open for squash.

To visit the centres you must pre-book a session over the phone. The online facility is not currently available. You can book a maximum of two activity sessions per day. Only one of these sessions can be a fitness class.

Badminton is currently available at Crystal and Dudley leisure centres.

  • To book a badminton court at Crystal or Dudley Leisure Centre you must pre-book a session prior to arrival. If you are a member you must book by phone up to 7 days in advance. The online facility is not available until further notice. Non-members can book up to 4 days in advance by calling 01384 812800. Non members will have to pay at the time of booking.
  • Badminton will be offered on a pre-booking basis. The rule of six will apply to badminton courts from Monday 17 May - a group of up to 6 people from any number of households are permitted to play. (four players and two spectators). Social distancing must still be maintained.
  • The centres will hire out equipment for badminton. All equipment will be sanitised upon its return to reception. It is advisable to bring your own if you have it. 
  • Changing rooms, lockers and showers are not accessible to dry side users. Toilet facilities are available.
  • Please arrive exercise ready and shower at home
  • Please arrive and leave on time.

Table-tennis will re-commence at Crystal Leisure Centre on Tuesday 1 June​. The same rules and guidance will apply as above. 

Crystal Leisure Centre - badminton and table-tennis times

Badminton and table-tennis is available seven days a week on the hour and quarter past the hour. The first booking is 9.15am - 10.10am and the last booking is 9pm - 9.55pm.

Please note: All time slots are subject to availability and change.

Crystal will re-introduce their badminton (daytime programme) sessions from Tuesday 18 May. These sessions are suitable for advanced badminton players aged over 16 years of age. Sessions run Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10.00am - 12.00pm and must be pre-booked. Limited spaces are available. 

Dudley Leisure Centre - badminton times

Badminton is available between the hours stated below. Fitness classes also operate within the sports hall at certain times, therefore courts are subject to availability and change.

Open 9am - last court 9pm to 10pm

Saturday
Open 8am - last court 7pm to 8pm

Squash at Crystal and Dudley leisure centres

Squash at Crystal and Dudley leisure centres

From Tuesday 1 June, Crystal and Dudley leisure centres will re-commence full court squash for adults and juniors. 

To book a court please call the centres on 01384 812800. The online booking facility is currently unavailable. The following guidance will apply:

  • Squash will be offered on a pre-booking basis.
  • Players can get on court with multiple households and play full court squash e.g. best of five with tie-breaks, and singles and doubles (squash bubbles and modified versions not required).
  • The maximum number of players on court allowed are 4 adults or children.
  • Spectators are allowed to return, but must observe maximum of six people or two households as well as social distancing rules and wear face coverings.
