Crystal Leisure Centre 25 metre pool closure - Tuesday 20 October to Sunday 1 November 2020 inclusive

Due to essential heating maintenance the 25 metre pool will be closed from Tuesday 20 October to Sunday 1 November inclusive. The pool will re-open on Monday 2 November 2020.

When are the centres opening?

Crystal, Dudley, Halesowen Leisure Centre, The Dell Stadium and Coseley Sports Centre have now re-opened for selected activities. 

How safe will the centres be?

The centres have been inspected prior to opening and are Covid-19 Assured. The facilities will open with a reduced capacity and numbers will be limited for fitness classes, gym sessions and swimming sessions.

Increased cleaning measures have been put in place, protective screens have been installed for the safety of our staff and customers, a strict social distancing etiquette has been introduced and sanitising stations have been installed around the buildings.

What activities will I be able to do?

You will be able to use the gym, available fitness classes and main swimming pools for lane swimming. Lane swimming is available to competent swimmers only.

The Dell stadium will offer football and use of the running track.

Badminton will be offered on a pre-booking basis for customers from different households, as long as you remain two metres apart. A maximum of 6 people per group is permitted. Only four people are allowed on the court at any given time. Two people from the group must adhere to social distancing on the side of the court.

There is no ability to turn up and use facilities without prior booking.

How will I book into sessions?

If you are an Options Lifestyle or Booking member you can book online or by phone up to 7 days in advance. Telephone bookings can also be made during centre opening hours.

If you are a non-member you can still book activities up to 4 days in advance by calling 01384 812800. Non members will have to pay at the time of booking.

I would like to book online for the activities, where can I get my login details from?

Please email leisure.dd@dudley.gov.uk with your name, date of birth and postcode; requesting your login credentials.

What happens if I cannot make my pre-booked session?

Activities and classes can be cancelled either online (for members only) or by telephone. If you are unable to attend, you must cancel as soon as possible. There will be 4-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 4 hours of your booking or fail to turn up, you may be charged for this booking.

Will I have to queue at the centre?

Socially distanced queues regardless of weather conditions will be outside the building. Therefore, it is advisable that customers do not turn up for their activities prior to 10 minutes before the start of the activity. There may also be queues prior to the gym and studio entrance doors before the session starts.

Can I book in person at reception?

In order to minimise face to face transaction and reduce waiting times, no bookings can be made in person at reception.

Will I have my temperature checked?

No, this is not required.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

It is recommended that a face mask is worn when entering, exiting and transitioning through the centre. Your face mask must cover your nose and mouth at all times. Please do not wear a face mask when exercising.

We continue to follow the latest UK Active and Covid-19 Secure guidance on the safe operation of facilities. If government or industry guidance recommends changes to the way leisure facilities operate, we will advise customers via our website.

Can I use the changing rooms?

Customers who are attending the gym and fitness classes will not be permitted access to the changing rooms initially. Crystal leisure centres dry side changing rooms are for toilet access only. Please arrive ready for your activity with minimal personal belongings. Customers who are using the swimming pools can use the changing facilities. Please arrive with your costume on underneath your clothes ready for your swim. After your swim, please change as quickly as possible. You may use the showers, but we strongly advise that customers shower at home.

Dudley and Crystal will offer mixed changing facilities, while at Halesowen there will be separate male and female changing.

Can I use lockers?

The use of lockers will not be permitted. Please keep personal belongings to a minimum. Swimmers can take their belongings in a bag onto poolside.

 

When will swimming lessons and other sports courses recommence?

These are under review currently, but we are hoping to restart these as soon as we can. Any credits for missed sessions will go forward to the next course dates.

How many sessions can I book per day/week?

Sessions will be limited to a maximum of one activity per day. As more facilities become available and government restrictions ease members will be allowed to book in for more sessions if they wish to do so.

Can I spectate?

There will be no spectating allowed in the centre at any time.

Can I hire equipment for activities?

The centre will still hire out equipment for badminton. All equipment will be sanitised upon its return to reception. It is advisable to bring your own if you have it. Yoga mats may be available at reception to purchase.

When can clubs come back?

Clubs will be contacted directly to discuss restarting under Covid-19 guidelines.

Will my details be used for test and trace?

Member details will be recorded against the activity when they book. Non-members will be asked for their name and contact phone number when they book. This information is required for the booking and will be kept for test and trace.

How do I report any concerns I have during my visit?

To limit face to face interactions, the use of complaint/suggestion forms and pens, it is recommended that the centre is contacted by phone or email. However, if you feel it is a safety issue please report it to reception immediately.
