Leisure centre re-opening information - updated 25 November 2020

Following the recent government announcement on Monday 23 November, Crystal, Dudley, Halesowen leisure centres, the Dell Stadium and Coseley Sports Centre will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020 and in accordance with new tier restrictions.

We are awaiting further guidance from government regarding which tier we will be in as this will determine how we can operate. Details will follow shortly.

Leisure centres closure FAQs: updated 3 November 2020

Following the recent government announcement Crystal, Dudley, Halesowen leisure centres, the Dell Stadium and Coseley Sports Centre will close from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December 2020 inclusive.

A series of FAQs are available below to assist with any queries you may have, alternatively if you wish to speak to a member of staff, please call the leisure centres between 10am to 1pm (Monday to Sunday).

Why are the centres and the Dell Stadium closing?

The facilities are closing following the Government announcement on Saturday 31 October 2020 in relation to Covid-19.

When will the centres and the Dell Stadium re-open?

The facilities will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020. We are awaiting further guidance from government regarding which tier we will be in as this will determine how we can operate.

My 1 November 2020 direct debit payment has come out of my bank account but as the facilities are closed from Thursday 5 November 2020, what will happen with November’s payment?

To recompense you for 1 November’s 2020 payment, your 1 December’s 2020 payment will not be taken from your account. 

If government guidance changes and the centres have to remain closed after 2 December 2020, you will be recompensed when we are able to re-open.

Can I freeze my membership if I am not ready to come back when you re-open?

Yes, please contact leisure.dd@dudley.gov.uk and request a further suspension on your membership. A member of the team will confirm the extension (up to 3 months).

I would like to cancel my membership; how do I do this?

Will my Festive Fitness annual membership, Options+ Leisure Discount membership or Booking membership be extended or will I get a refund to compensate for the closure?

All of the memberships stated have been extended by five months. Additional extensions will be considered.

I purchased an annual membership after 2 August 2020, will my membership be extended, or will I get a refund to compensate for the closure?

Annual memberships purchased after 2 August 2020 will have additional days added to the expiry date to recompense you for the closure.

I have paid for my child’s wet and/or dry side course. What will happen with my payment?

Your child’s payment will be credited to the next available course.

 

Will the Dell Stadium close even though it is an outdoor venue?

Yes, government guidance states that indoor and outdoor sports facilities must close from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December 2020 inclusive. The re-opening date may be subject to change if government guidance changes.
