Leisure centres update - 23 February 2021

Following the recent government ‘roadmap out of lockdown’ announcement, procedures are being reviewed in line with government guidance and industry standards.

The leisure centres remain closed and all memberships are suspended until further notice. It is proposed that the Dell Stadium and Coseley Sports Centre (outdoor facilities only) will open from Monday 29 March 2021. Crystal, Dudley and Halesowen leisure centres will re-open from Monday 12 April 2021. Dates may be subject to change depending on future government guidance.

Pool Lifeguard Course at Dudley Leisure Centre

Dudley Council is running a lifeguard course at Dudley Leisure Centre.

The Royal Life Saving Society lifeguard course can pave the way for a new career or just equip people with essential skills.

The course will run from Monday 16 December to Thursday 19 December from 10am to 8pm, with an exam taking place on Saturday 21 December (am). 

People will receive a course manual and special tuition. Those who complete the course successfully will get an official lifeguard qualification and certificate.

The course is open for people 16 and over who will be expected to take a pre-arranged swimming test before the course dates.

The courses costs £220 and spaces must be pre-booked with a deposit required to secure a place. The remaining balance is to be paid before the course starts.
