Whether you are looking to work with the glass or geology collections or welcome family groups to our events, we have a number of opportunities you may be interested in.

How do I volunteer?

  • You will be asked to complete a Volunteer expression of interest form
  • You will be interviewed by a member of the museum team
  • Following interview , if suitable, you will undergo a pre-volunteer recruitment checks - this includes references and DBS check
  • You will agree a start date and will be asked to sign a volunteering agreement
  • Finally, you will attend an induction session at one of the museum venues

Work experience - we do not have any work experience placements for 2021

  • We offer a limited number of placements annually to pupils under 16 - previous successful applicants have submitted an application in the year prior to the placement actually taking place!
  • Your experience will focus on a small project with the learning team which you will be expected to complete over the week.
  • Young people will be supported, encouraged and sometimes pushed out of their comfort zone in a safe, professional environment.
  • Please submit a written application form below and send to museums@dudley.gov.uk.
  • We will contact you if successful and you will be invited to an interview at one of our venues.
  • Our Work Experience Placements are very popular so please do give yourself plenty of time to apply.
