Public Consultation on draft Conservation Area Character Appraisals 8th January to February 19th 2018

YOUR VIEWS ARE NEEDED TO HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF 3 OF THE BOROUGH’S CONSERVATION AREA’S HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT

Draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management plans have been produced for the following three Conservation Areas:-

  • All Saints Sedgley Conservation Area

  • Wollaston Conservation Area

  • Wordsley Church Conservation Area

The Appraisal’s assesses what is special about the historic and architectural character of the Conservation Area. The management plans identifies what issues are facing the Conservation Area and sets out proposals for action for its preservation or enhancement. To view a full copy of the draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management plan for each of the three conservation areas you can view and download them below.

The Council is keen to know your views on the draft Conservation Area Appraisals and would be grateful if you could complete the short questionnaire available to download below. We would also like your thoughts on the appropriateness of the existing boundary of the Conservation Area, any possible extensions and what issues you believe should be reflected in the management plan. You can:

  • Complete the on-line questionnaire below;

  • e-mail completed questionnaire to historic.environment@dudley.gov.uk;

  • deposit them in one of the boxes which can be found in one of the libraries listed below;

  • or post them to Historic Environment, Dudley MBC, 4 Ednam Road, Dudley, DY1 1HL. 

Hard copies of the draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management plan for each of the three conservation areas will also be made available throughout the 6 week public consultation period in one of the following town Libraries: Brierley Hill, Dudley, Halesowen, or Stourbridge where you can also return your completed questionnaire.

For residents in Sedgley a copy of the draft All Saints Sedgley Conservation Area Appraisal will be available in Sedgley Library, Ladies Walk Centre, Priory Lane, Dudley, DY3 3UA where you can also return your completed questionnaire. You can also complete an on-line version of the survey for Sedgley at the link below:

For residents in Wollaston a copy of the draft Wollaston Conservation Area Appraisal will be available in St James’s Church Hall, Belfry Drive, Wollaston, DY8 3SE where you can also return your completed questionnaire. You can also complete an on-line version of the survey for Wollaston at the link below:

For residents in Wordsley a copy of the Wordsley Church Conservation Area Appraisal will be available in Wordsley Library, Wordsley Green, Stourbridge, DY8 5PD where you can also return your completed questionnaire. You can also complete an on-line version of the survey for Wordsley at the link below:  

Copies of the draft appraisals and questionnaires will be made available at the following Community Forums where there will be Officers to answer any queries, for more information about Community Forums and the venue for meeting please click on the following link http://www.dudley.gov.uk/community/community-council/community-forums/ :-

  • Wed 10th January 2018, 6.30pm  - Kingswinford North and Wall Heath, Kingswinford South, Wordsley community forum (Dingle Community Centre, Madeley)

  • Wed 10th January 2018, 6.30pm – Norton, Pedmore and Stourbridge East, Wollaston and Stourbridge Town Community Forum (Ham Dingle Primary School)

  • Mon 15th January 2018, 6.30pm – Coseley East and Sedgley Community Forum (Cotwall End Primary School)


When the consultation has closed, all feedback will be collated, considered and used to help us develop the next stage of the plan.

The deadline for this consultation is Monday 19th February 2018.
