There is something for everyone at Dudley Museum & Art Gallery. For teachers we have fun, interactive school visits. For art lovers we have frequently changing art exhibitions. For budding geologists, we have a huge collection of fossils. For families we have the JAM club (Juniors At Museums)

Opening Times

Monday to Saturday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Open all year except for Bank Holidays including Good Friday and Easter Monday. Christmas opening times may vary.

Admission is Free

Dudley Rock & Fossil Festival 2013 is on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 September. Exhibitors selling a wide range of fossils, minerals, jewellery, gems, crystals and family friendly activities including magic shows, fossil casting, trilobite racing, glitter tattoo artist, Poet Laureate, prize competition, Geo-art Gallery competition, geology lectures from experts and much more.

The collections

The most important collection at Dudley Museum is Geology Collection. There are two galleries given over to the collection and the very important place that Dudley occupies in the story of the discovery of the science of Geology in the United Kingdom.

Current exhibitions at the Museum

Dudley Museum & Art Gallery now combines permanent collections of art, geology and fossils with contemporary exhibitions, local interest shows and hands-on exhibitions related to the school curriculum.

Current exhibitions include: Saxons and Vikings, Duncan Edwards and Local Heroes, Return of the Dinosaurs, Fantastic Fossils and Dudley UnEarthed.

Juniors at Museums

The Museum is a place to learn and have fun and is a great place to take the family with free admission, free trails and family craft activities.

The JAM Club is for children and their families We host a varied programme of events and activities taking place across all the Museums in the Borough.
