The park is surrounded by shrubbery and trees and has some tarmac paths with a selection of seating benches. The park has a children's play area and large areas of open grass idea for team games and recreational activities. The tree line creates areas of shaded and un-shaded grass, idea for family picnics. The park has a quiet family appeal, with the pond being the main focus of the scenery making the area idea for bird watching. The park has a raised section of trees, off setting remarkable views of the busy park, during the summer months, producing photography and artist opportunities, as well as, for pure enjoyment purposes.

The pool is the main focus of the site, the man made pond, being a large area of open water attracts an abundance of water based bird life.  Ducks, Geese, Moor Hen and Swans are residents of the pond. Utilising the shrub areas that line the edges of the pond for nesting. DY6 8AZ
