Dudley's family hub network includes five local family hubs, along with online resources and community services which support children and families across the borough. The local family hubs are located at Brierley Hill, Coseley, Dudley, Lye and Stourbridge.

Being a parent is full of joyful firsts, but some stages can feel daunting. The Best Start in Life website brings together trusted advice and support, from pregnancy to childcare and beyond.

Dudley family hub network

The network is a one-stop shop, offering advice and support for families in Dudley with children aged 0-19 (25 if the child has special educational needs and/or disabilities). It includes an online offer and five local family hubs.

The network includes key Best Start in Life services such as midwifery, health visiting and early years support.

The hubs are welcoming places where parents-to-be, parents, carers, families and young people can get help all from one place.

Family hubs are local and accessible, linking families to the right services for them, when they need them.

We are looking for parents and carers to join ‘Dudley Family Voices’ – a group of parents and carers helping shape the future development of services provided by the network. If you are interested in becoming involved or just want to find out a bit call your local family hub.

There are currently five local Best Start Family Hubs in the borough offering support to you and your family. Open Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, they are located in:

Early help

Early Help is taking action early to provide support where problems are emerging for children, young people and their families. Early help support may be provided at any point in a child or young person’s life. The sooner the family receives the support, the sooner they are able to improve their situation and prevent the need for prolonged support.

Early Help is here to find out what is working well for families and what areas they might be worried about; it can help to build on families’ strengths and identify any needs where support might be needed. It is an approach that brings people together from different teams and services who work together with the whole family. The main focus is to improve outcomes for children.
