Apply for a Blue Badge

The Blue Badge scheme provides parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers. The scheme also applies to people who are registered blind and people with very severe upper limb difficulties who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot turn a steering wheel by hand.

For more details about whether you qualify for a blue badge check your eligibility

Warning: It has come to our attention that there are a number of third party websites charging up to £50 and more to process Blue Badge applications. Please avoid these and use only the official form, where if you meet the eligibility criteria for a blue badge you will only be charged £10.

How to apply

Further to the Government's reforms the Blue Badge parking scheme will still be run by councils but Badges will now be issued centrally in a similar way to passports – this means that the Blue Badge can no longer be collected from local offices. The new system has created a number of issues for applicants and staff.

If you need to renew your Blue Badge soon:

  • Allow time to process your application before your current badge runs out

  • Phone the Blue Badge Team on 0300 555 0055 to request an application form or complete your application on-line

  • If your application is approved you will be asked to attend an interview to check your ID, take your photograph and take payment. See below for more details.

The current charge to process applications in Dudley is £10
