e-Housing essential maintenance

Our e-Housing System will be temporarily offline from 4pm, Friday 26 April until 9am, Monday 19 April 2024, for scheduled maintenance and updates. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.

The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) is a government funded grant scheme for owner occupiers in England. It provides energy efficiency upgrades and low carbon heating to low-income households living in homes that do not have a mains gas heating system.

Dudley Council is working with the West Midlands Combined Authority and Marches Energy Agency to help homeowners reduce their energy use.

The HUG scheme offers fully funded energy upgrades to low-income households. Homeowners could be entitled to a variety of measures, such as insulation and upgraded heating.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible for this scheme if you meet all of the following:

  • you are an owner occupier
  • you do not have a mains gas heating system
  • your household income is under £36,000, including any benefits you may receive
  • your home has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating between D and G - Marches Energy can help you get one for free if you don’t already have an EPC

If you meet the above criteria, you could receive fully funded energy efficiency measures such as insulation, Solar PV (solar panels), heating upgrades and more.

These measures will help:

  • reduce your energy bills
  • lower your carbon footprint
  • make your home more comfortable and healthier to live in
