Dudley Citizenship & Registration Services

The service provides for the statutory registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in the registration district of Dudley Metropolitan Borough. The Register Office is located at Priory Hall, Priory Park, Dudley. A registrar is also available, by appointment only, to register births and deaths at Stourbridge library and Dudley Council Plus.

Due to the current building works taking place in Priory Park, car parking is very limited. Please allow extra time to find a parking space on Priory Road or in a nearby car park when attending the office.

By Road - Dudley is only 2 miles from J2 of the M5 and is clearly signposted by taking the A4123, A461 and then the A459 to Priory Hall. Dudley Bus Station is only 10 minutes walk away. It is approximately 125 miles from London, 10 miles from Birmingham, 108 miles from Cardiff and 80 miles from Manchester.

By Rail - There are direct services from London Euston and Birmingham International Airport and a regular rail link to Dudley Sandwell Station.

By road - Stourbridge Town Centre is usually busy with traffic so please allow enough time to negotiate this and find a parking space. Due to the current building and road closures in the town centre, car parking is signed posted off the ring road. Stourbridge bus station is situated off Foster Street and is 10 minutes walk away.

By Rail - There are regular services to Stourbridge Town Station via Stourbridge Junction. Stourbridge Town Station is located adjacent to the bus station.

Registering a Baby's Birth

A birth must be registered in the registration district where the baby was born. If your baby was born in Russells Hall Hospital, this can be at Dudley Council Plus, Dudley Register Office or Stourbridge library. Please call 0300 555 2345 to arrange an appointment.

You can choose to use our new tell us once service when registering the birth.

Registering a Death

A death must be registered in the registration district in which it took place.

If the death occurred within the Dudley Borough, this can be at Dudley Council Plus, Dudley Register Office or Stourbridge library. Please call 0300 555 2345 to arrange an appointment.

Marriages and Civil Partnerships

Couples wishing to marry or register a civil partnership in the Dudley borough can choose to hold a ceremony at Priory Hall. Located in Priory Park, the venue offers fantastic photograph opportunities.

Copy Certificates

Apply online for copy certificates or alternatively call 0300 555 2345 and order a certificate over the telephone using a credit or debit card.

If you prefer you can download certificate application forms and apply by post enclosing a cheque or postal order payable to Dudley MBC.

Births, Marriages & Deaths Search

Search for Birth, Marriage or Death records held in the Dudley Metropolitan Borough from 1837 up to 2006 inclusive.

Citizenship Ceremonies

A person can apply to the Home Office to become a British Citizen if they have resided in the UK for 5 years or if they have resided in the UK for 3 years and are married to a British Citizen.
