There is currently no formal Environmental Health Officer 24 hours a day cover available, although every effort will be made to contact an appropriate officer should an environmental health emergency occur.
Although each caller may feel that their call is an emergency, it may well be that the incident can be dealt with by giving advice or being investigated on the next working day. Such issues as noise from a neighbour will often be dealt with in this way.
We classify emergencies as serious events such as:
- fatalities;
- imminent risk to life or the health of individuals;
- serious pollution of the Environment.
