Dudley Archives and Local History Service collects, preserves and makes available archive and local studies material relating to the Dudley borough to help the community understand the past, live the present and shape the future.
The research room at Dudley Archives and Local History Service is now open to the public. Please call us on 01384 812770 for further information and if you would like to make an appointment (optional). Our opening hours are: Tuesdays, 10am to 5pm and Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 4pm (last orders for archival material 30 minutes before closing time).
We hold original archive material including business ledgers, maps, school records and local authority correspondence and minutes. We have over 15,000 books and pamphlets and around 26,000 images relating to the borough. Dudley Archives and Local History Service is managed through partnership with Better (GLL), a not for profit charitable social enterprise group.
