Children's Services - One Health and Care Privacy Notice

Authorised Children's Services staff may be able to view limited information including:

• Personal details (name, date of birth, address, NHS number, GP details)
• Key GP information and alerts
• Care contacts and professionals involved
• Allergies and contraindications
• Hospital admissions, referrals and appointments
• Emergency Department attendances
• Ambulance service contacts
• Basic health information such as vital signs and care plans

Children's Services do not have unrestricted access to full NHS records and cannot routinely view detailed clinical information beyond the agreed information categories. Access to particularly sensitive healthcare information remains restricted.

Access is limited to authorised Children's Services staff who have a legitimate business need. All access is:

• Role-based and permission controlled
• Logged and auditable
• Regularly monitored
• Governed by data protection legislation and information-sharing agreements

Information may be accessed to:

• Support safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities
• Better understand a child's needs and circumstances
• Improve coordination between health and care services
• Support assessments, planning and service delivery
• Reduce duplication of information gathering
• Ensure decisions are based on accurate and up-to-date information
