Interviews
Prepare for interviews, organise your examples and explain what you can offer with confidence.

Preparation makes interviews easier
You do not need to memorise perfect answers. Good preparation means understanding the role, knowing the examples you want to use and being ready to explain them clearly.
Research the role
Read the job description again and know what the employer is looking for.
Prepare examples
Think of situations that show your skills, effort, reliability, teamwork, learning or problem-solving.
Practise saying it out loud
A short practice can help you organise your thoughts and sound more natural on the day.
On the day
- Know where you need to be, or test the technology for an online interview.
- Give yourself enough time so you are not rushing.
- Listen to the whole question before answering.
- Use real examples where you can.
- If you need a moment to think, take one.
- Ask for a question to be repeated or clarified if you do not understand it.
An interview is not a memory test
Employers are trying to understand how you think, communicate and could fit the role. Clear, genuine answers are more useful than trying to sound perfect.
