Yellow Heat Health Alert

The UK Health Security Agency has issued a Yellow Heat Health Alert for the West Midlands from 12pm on 4 July to 8pm on 11 July 2026. These alerts are a reminder for everyone to take extra care during the hot weather and to look out for those who may need additional support. The Local Area SEND Inspection Framework

The new SEND inspection framework and handbook was published in 2023 . Each local area will be jointly inspected against the SEND Code of Practice by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission at least once every 5 years.

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have produced a video for parents and carers on how the inspection will work and on how you can get involved during the inspection.

Information for Stakeholders

In 2023 Ofsted and the CQC held a webinar for providers, local authorities, health organisations and education settings and provides on what to expect from an inspection.

Collecting and processing personal information

During an inspection, inspectors will gather personal data and information that are necessary to help them evaluate local SEND arrangements. Ofsted’s privacy notice and the CQC’s privacy statement set out what data we collect, what we do with it, how long we keep it and people’s rights under data protection legislation.

Ofsted and the CQC concluded their 3-week inspection of the Local  Area Partnership for SEND on 24 January 2025.
