Travel passes for older persons and people with disabilities
Travel and transport are important to people and the prosperity of the borough. We and our partners play an important role in keeping the road network safe and usable. We also ensure that transport services meet the needs of local people, businesses and visitors.
Buses, trains and metro
Older people who are eligible for an English National Concessionary Travel Pass can travel free on the bus anywhere in England during 'off-peak' times.
Off-Peak times:
- Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 11pm.
- Weekends and Bank Holidays, All Day.
Transport for West Midlands passes:
- Free travel on the bus, train and Metro in the West Midlands
- Monday to Friday, 9.30am until the end of daytime service.
- Weekends and Bank Holidays, All Day.
If you need to travel before 9.30am Monday to Friday you can either pay the fare or you can buy a season ticket.
Ring and Ride
This service provides accessible and low cost transport. It is intended to help disabled people and people with walking difficulties. If you qualify, once registered you can book a Ring & Ride accessible minibus. This can take you, children and an accompanying adult door to door for local short journeys across the West Midlands.
