The Met Office has issued a Red heat health alert lasting until 11pm on Friday 26 June. In addition, the Met Office has issued an Amber heat health alert from 9pm on Friday 26 June until 9am, Sunday 28 June. Hot weather can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable people. Below is a list of all our consultations. Some may be ongoing, and some may have ended. The Traffic and Road Safety department want to hear your views and will enter details of their plans, background information and how to have your say.
As part of Dudley’s Network Improvement and Pedestrian Programme, Oldswinford Cross, Stourbridge was identified as a priority location for upgrading. This is in response to an identified demand for pedestrian improvements at the junction.
Proposed measures include:
Revise stop lines and lane allocation
Wider Pedestrian dropped kerbs and tactile paving
Cycle advanced stop line
Wider pedestrian refuges
Revised signal phases and timings
‘MOVA’ signal technology to maximise capacity

As part of the annual Safer Routes to School programme Roberts Primary School was identified for a scheme to include as part of the Council's 20mph School Zone initiative/policy an advisory 20mph school limit/zone.
This measure should have the desired effect of reducing vehicle speeds and encouraging a more responsible driving attitude whilst passing the school entrance located along Deepdale Lane. These measures will also compliment/match those which are present/existing along Robert Street for that entrance.
These provisional proposals are shown in more detail on the attached drawing.
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, as part of the low carbon agenda relating to transport, is engaged in the Office for Low Emission Vehicle funded On Street Residential Charge point Scheme to create an electric vehicle charge point network across the borough. This project is to encourage the move to electric vehicles which should provide a cleaner environment.
Part of the project is to provide on street charging points on the streets where off street charging facilities are not available. The stay is restricted to 6 hours, no return in 6 hours, 6am to 6pm all days, while charging/topping up batteries, primarily aimed at residents and their visitors in the area.
The project is a trial and therefore an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) has been used to introduce the electric charging places and the use of the bay will be monitored.
