P691 Greystone St Traffic Regulation Order (moving)

Location: Greystone St, Dudley
Type of Restrictions: One-way traffic flow (in a South-westerly direction)

Background

As part of a local safety scheme along Stafford Street, it is proposed to make the upper section of Greystone Street one way to improve safety at the junction.
The proposals are necessary in order to;

  • Eliminate risk of collision due to poor visibility when exiting the junction, while maintaining access to nearby properties.
  • For preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • To avoid danger to persons and traffic using the road and prevent the
    likelihood of any danger arising there from.
  • The extend of the proposals are shown on plan HT4716-2

Summary of Proposals:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council propose to make the above mentioned Orders, the effect of which will be that certain lengths of the roads listed below will have new and revoked restrictions in place as stated:

HT5074 - Lutley Primary School - Proposed Safer Routes to School Scheme

HT5074 Proposed Safer Routes to School Scheme – Lutley Primary School, Halesowen.
Location: Rosemary Rd, Portdown Rd, Bassnage Rd, Hazeldene Rd, Hagley Rd - Halesowen
Type of Proposal : School Zone and complementary measures
Consultation start: 9 October 2021
Consultation end: 22 October 2021

Background

As part of its Safer Routes to School programme the Council is proposing to introduce a 20mph School Zone in the vicinity of Lutley Primary School. The proposals, shown on the attached drawings HT5074-1 and HT5074-2, involve the introduction of the following road safety features:

  • School zone ‘Gateway’ with SLOW road markings, new flashing school signs with advisory 20mph speed limit at school times on each approach to the school
  • Upgrade existing zebra crossing on Rosemary Rd to widen the crossing and include LED belisha beacons
  •  Provision of a pedestrian refuge and additional centre hatching on Hagley Rd to improve pedestrian safety and reduce vehicle speeds.

The proposed measures are intended to improve highway safety and encouraging a more responsible driving attitude in the area, especially at school times.
