There are a number of websites where families can find out about community and leisure activities and events for children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) in the local area. These websites are run separately from the Dudley Local Offer.
In addition, Dudley Local Offer also has information about:
The Dudley Community Information Directory is a website where you can find local clubs, groups, events, activities and support for people of all ages, including children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It helps families and professionals find useful and up-to-date information so they can get involved, try new activities, and enjoy what’s happening in Dudley borough.
Adding information to the directory is voluntary, and each group or provider is responsible for putting in their own details and keeping them up to date. Activities regulated by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have a link to their rating, but many activities on the directory are not required to be regulated. Families should check for themselves that the activity or service is right for their needs.
The directory is managed by Public Health.
For more information, visit the Dudley Community Information Directory.
The Family Information Service (FIS) is a free service run by Dudley Council. This is separate to the Dudley Local Offer. It gives parents, carers, and families clear information, advice, and contacts to help you with your child.
The FIS can help you find out about:
- Early years and childcare providers registered with Ofsted
- Funded early education for children under 2, and for 2, 3, and 4-year-olds
- Wraparound care before and after school
- Childcare for children aged 5 and older
- Fun things to do and places to visit, including holiday events and activities for children, young people, and families
- Support for parents and carers of children with additional needs, such as SEN events, short breaks, sensory rooms, and support groups
For more information, visit the Family Information Service.
Free holiday activities and meals are offered for children aged 5–16 who get benefits-related free school meals, as well as other vulnerable children, including some children with SEND.
Funded by the Department for Education and run by Dudley Council, we work with local groups to provide lots of fun clubs and activities. Every session also includes a healthy meal or snack.
For more information, visit the Dudley Holiday Activities website.
Dudley’s Family Hubs are local, welcoming places where families can get help and support. They are for parents, carers, and young people aged 0–19 (or up to 25 if the young person has special educational needs and/or disabilities). The hubs offer advice on many topics, including health, parenting, and child development.
Each hub runs different activities and groups, such as:
- Stay and Play sessions for children under 5
- Parenting workshops to support positive behaviour
- Baby and toddler groups for early development
- Support groups for carers and families
These activities are designed to help families connect, learn, and grow together. The Family Hubs also work with other services to provide extra support when needed.
