Body of Persons Approval is available to organisations with children taking part in their productions. This reduces the administrative burden by exempting them from obtaining individual performance licenses for each child.

Dudley Council will consider issuing a BOPA, providing the organisation meets the criteria for application and the council is satisfied the organisation has clear, robust and well embodied policies for safeguarding children.

For more information please read the Body of Persons Approval (BOPA) Guidance for Applicants booklet which explains the process of applying for a BOPA for performances taking place within Dudley borough - click the link below.

If after reading the booklet you would like to apply for a Body of Persons Approval, please complete the relevant application form below and submit it via email.

Applications for a BOPA can only be made to Dudley if the performance is taking place within the Dudley MBC boundaries.

If you already have a planned performance/event please note you must give at least 21 days notice.

We issue three types of BOPA - Annual, Singular or Events (festivals, competitions, etc).

Annual BOPA

For organisations who put on several productions throughout the year.

Single BOPA

For one production or activity for children who are members of the organisation.

Events BOPA

Where one person is organising a large event and more than one organisation is taking part. For example, a dance competition with several dance schools taking part.
