Christmas services & opening times
Dudley Council Plus customer service phone lines will be closed from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day and on New Year’s Day. They will be taking calls as normal from 8.30am to 5pm on December 29, 30 and 31. Self-serve online services will be accessible throughout the festive period on MyDudley.
You can report an emergency for any council service by calling Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345 and selecting option 1, which will take you to our out of hours emergency service. This is available for emergencies at any time of year.
The council’s repairs management centre is also closed from December 24 to 26 and on January 1. It is open from 8am to 5pm on December 29, 30 and 31, with an out of hours service from 5pm to 7pm on those weekdays and from 8am to 7pm on the weekend of December 27 and 28.
As usual, an emergency repairs service is offered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To report an emergency repair during this period, please call 0300 555 8283.
Your waste and recycling collections may change dates during the Christmas and New Year period. Normal service will resume from Monday 5 January.
Dudley Register Office at Priory Hall will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
It will be open from 27 December to 31 December for urgent appointments. Normal service is resumed from 2 January 2026.
Stourbridge Register Office, based in the Thomas Robinson building in Cemetery Road, Lye, is closed from Christmas Eve to 5 January.
Dudley borough libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. They will be open on December 27 and December 28, and closed from December 29 to New Year’s Day before reopening as normal on January 2.
Dudley Archives and Dudley Museum at the Archives is open on December 23 and December 27. It is closed all other days over the festive period until reopening for normal business from January 2.
The grounds of Himley Hall and Park will remain open throughout the festive season from 7.30am to 5pm.
The café at Himley Hall will be closed from December 23 to December 28, and is also shut on New Year’s Day. It is open from 10am to 2pm on December 29, 30 and 31, before normal opening times resume from January 2.
Duncan Edwards, Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres are closed from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, as well as on New Year’s Day. The centres are open as normal on December 27 and 28, but will close earlier on December 29, 30 and 31.
Our children, adults and community services offices will be closed from 24 December to 26 December, and also on 1 January.
Queen Cross Network and the Crystal Gateway will be closed from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, and also on New Year’s Day.
The Brett Young Carers Hub is closed from Christmas Eve to December 28, and on New Year’s Day. It is open from 9am to 5pm on December 29, 30 and 31.
Family hubs
All of our local family hubs will be closed from 24 December to 26 December and on 1 January.
Brierley Hill and Coseley hubs will be open from 9am to 5pm on December 29, 30 and 31 providing support across the borough. All other hubs will be closed on this date.
Approved Mental Health Professionals Service
The Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) hub accepts requests for Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments 24/7, 365 days per year. They can be contacted on 01384 814400.
Any queries for Mental Health social work teams should be directed to the Emergency Duty Team out of hours and on bank holidays.

Gornal and Stourbridge cemeteries and grounds are open from 9am to 4.30pm over the Christmas period. The book of remembrance and flower rooms are open from 9am to 4pm.
The borough crematoria and offices will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
The Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley closes at 3pm on December 23 and will reopen at 10am on January 2.
Services including residential care, sheltered housing, home care and telecare will continue to operate during the festive season.
