Christmas services & opening times

Dudley Council Plus

The walk-in centre at Castle Street, telephone and online services will be closed 24 to 28 December and 1 January. *Please see library opening times for Dudley Council Plus Local operating hours.

Waste Collections

Households will have altered waste and recycling collections between 19 December and 2 January.

Flyers detailing the changes will be delivered to all borough homes in the lead up to Christmas. To find out more visit www.dudley.gov.uk/recycling

Household waste recycling centre (the tip)

The household waste recycling centre will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.

Register office

Registrars service will be closed 24 to 28 December. Open 29, 30, 31 December. Closed 1 January. Normal hours resume 2 January.

Libraries and the archives

Dudley borough libraries & the archives will close 24 December to 1 January inclusive. Sites which are normally open on Saturdays will be open 10am to 3pm on 2 January.

Normal operating hours, currently 10am to 3pm, will resume at all libraries on 4 January and at Archives on 5 January.

Park activity centres (healthy hubs)

The parks will remain open throughout the winter holidays. The park activity centres (including public toilets) at Huntingtree Park, Mary Stevens Park, Netherton Park and Silver Jubilee Park will close on 19 December and re-open on 5 January.

Himley Hall and park

The Himley Coffee Hatch will close on 20 December at 3pm and re-open on 5 January from 9.30am until 3pm.

The park will remain open throughout the festive season and hot refreshments will be on sale from the courtyard at the hall. To find out more visit: www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk

Leisure centres

Crystal Leisure Centre

The centre will be closed from 24 to 26 December and 1 January. The centre will close at 6pm from 27 to 31 December.

Dudley Leisure Centre

The centre will be closed from 24 to 26 December and 1 January. The centre will close at 3pm from 27 to 31 December.

Halesowen Leisure Centre

The centre will be closed from 24 to 26 December and 1 January. The centre will close at 4.45pm on 27 and 31 December and will close at 8.15pm from 28 to 30 December.

Dell Stadium

The stadium will be closed from 24 December to 3 January.

Coseley Sports Centre

The centre will be closed from 19 December to 3 January.

Children, adult and community services

Offices will be closed 23 December to 2 January.

To contact children’s or adult care services in an emergency when offices are closed call the emergency duty team on 0300 555 8574.

Housing services

Most housing services will close 23 December at 4.30pm and re-open 4 January at 9am. Essential services including homelessness and sheltered housing will continue to operate from 29 to 31 December.

The homelessness team will operate from Dudley Council Plus and can be contacted for emergencies outside office hours on 0300 555 2345. It is advisable to call this number prior to visiting Dudley Council Plus, as COVID-19 restrictions remain in place

The Repairs Management Centre will be closed between 24 to 28 December and on 1 January. Only emergency housing repairs will be undertaken from 24 December through to 1 January inclusive.

Pleased to Meet You service

The Pleased to Meet You service will be open Monday to Friday from 9am until 4pm.

The service will be closed on 24 to 28 December and 1 January.

 

Bereavement services

Gornal and Stourbridge cemeteries and grounds are open across the Christmas period 9am to 4.30pm with the book of remembrance and flower rooms open 9am to 4pm.

The crematoriums and offices will be closed on 24, 25, 28 December and 1 January.

Payment of council tax, business rates or housing rent

Payments can be made by debit or credit card by calling Callpay on 0300 555 7000 or online payments and enquiries.

Red House Glass Cone Museum

The Red House Glass Cone will close on 23 December at 3pm and reopen on 4 January at 10am.

Residential care and home care telecare

Offices will close 23 December at 4.30pm and re-open 4 January at 8am. Services including residential care sheltered housing and homecare telecare will continue to operate during the holiday period.
