Working to be fit for the future, at Dudley Council we are ambitious in our plans to make the borough a destination of choice, creating opportunities for all to thrive in a safe and healthy environment.
What is the council plan?
The council is constantly striving to improve the way that we deliver our services to meet the needs of local people, and to ensure we can measure and demonstrate our achievements. The Council Plan 2022-25 sets out Dudley’s strategic direction for the next three years.
The plan has different meaning to different groups. It:
- Tells borough residents what our priorities are
- Gives our services objectives to work to
- Aids councillors to scrutinise the council’s services.
The cabinet, strategic executive board and other senior leaders within the council all take part in the discussion of what the council’s priorities should be for the next three years. As part of this work we think about how well we met the previous plan and if the needs of our communities have changed.
Council Plan 2022-25
Two documents are available that describe the current council plan.
The full council plan strategic document sets the scene by giving information about the council, our borough and the Borough Vision. It shows how the council plan is linked to the Borough Vision and which performance indicators we are using to monitor the plan.
The plan on a page highlights the four council plan priority areas and the five objectives within each priority. It also shows the Future Council programme and Borough Vision (forging a future for all) as being at the centre of the plan.
Priorities and Outcomes
The four council plan priorities have a clear focus on our regeneration plans, our work to become a destination of choice for tourism, housing and educational needs and a place where communities can lead stronger, safer and healthier lives.
The priorities and outcomes are listed below.
