Dudley Council works hard to ensure its services continue to run during the autumn and winter period. However, some services will be affected by the severe weather.
Tuesday 6 January
Gritting
Our crews were out overnight to keep the network gritted, we are continuing to monitor and will be out again tonight. As always, please drive carefully to conditions.
Take care if you're out and about and allow more time for your journeys.
Recycling and waste collections
We would like to apologise to residents whose and bins and recycling has not been collected due to the recent snow and icy conditions which has made some roads unsafe to access.
Crews have been out every scheduled collection day, and we’ve successfully collected arounds 91% of bins during the recent period of bad weather.
We’re aware that there are still collections outstanding, particularly in Halesowen, Kates Hill, Coseley, Sedgley and Gornal and are crews are working hard to catch up as quickly as possible. If you have a missed bin collection, we will collect up to three additional sacks of rubbish. Please leave missed waste at the kerbside and we will get to you as soon as we can.
If your recycling collection has been affected, please leave your bags and box at the kerbside and we will get to it as quickly as possible.
Scheduled collections will continue as normal this week subject to weather and road conditions.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Additional
We have 3,000 tonnes of grit and a fleet of eight gritters, to bolster a network of more than one thousand grit bins across the borough if the weather takes a turn for the worst.
