Loneliness can have a huge impact on both physical and mental health. One of our key focuses is to reduce loneliness and isolation in the borough.
Evidence shows that being lonely has the same negative impact on health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Loneliness and isolation doesn’t just affect older people and according to a recent BBC survey younger people are more likely to feel isolated and lonely than older people.
Is about helping you stay positive in later life and providing a helping hand to get out about and enjoy life. Together we can help you overcome the fear of stepping into the community you want to be involved in or even create something new.
This Loneliness and Isolation course is for anyone who comes into contact with people who might be lonely or isolated. It will provide an awareness of what isolation and loneliness is, who might be vulnerable, how to spot signs that someone might need help and what you can do to help tackle this issue.
We want as many staff and partners to take the course and help tackle loneliness and isolation in Dudley together.
