We work alongside partners to provide a range of support and assistance to help you with training or employment.
Our support may include:
- claiming suitable clothes for interview purposes
- claiming transport costs to and from interviews
- claiming specific clothing or uniform you may need to do your job or training such as steel toed boots or a hairdressing kit
- support to claim start-up equipment, including health and safety equipment
- help with completing CVs, applications forms and interview coaching
- travel costs to employment until in receipt of first earnings
Helping you to overcome the barriers to work
A local support programme called Dudley Employability Services is designed to help you overcome the barriers to employment. Through Employability Services, you will have access to:
- a programme to support employability and skills
- a Key Worker/Mentor trained to support you throughout your journey
- advice and guidance, along with customised support tailored to you. We may even be able to help with travel, childcare and equipment
- brokering between you and the opportunity you decide upon, making it simple for you to start

Help with public transport if you are a jobseeker
Transport for West Midlands ‘Workwise’ gives eligible jobseekers and apprentices 50% off most Network West Midlands travel passes and National Express Passes for up to three months when you start a new job.
