We are dedicated to supporting children, young people and families in the Dudley borough.
We may be able to help you by:
providing a chance to talk about any problems
giving information, advice, practical help and support in your home
helping with information about local nurseries, childminders, playgroups, parent and toddler groups, and short breaks for children with special needs
supporting young people with problems
helping people to share concerns about a child or adult’s safety or welfare with the right people
In addition to supporting families we have a duty to protect children and young people who are at risk of neglect or abuse and support them if a court decides they can no longer remain with their own family.
We always need adoptive families and foster carers. If you could give a child a loving home why not visit our Fostering or Adoption pages for more information.
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a multi-disciplinary service providing assessments and treatment for young people who have complex and severe behavioural or emotional difficulties. The team is made up of clinical psychiatrists; clinical psychologists; social workers; nurses; occupational therapists and psychotherapists working side by side.
Referrals are via GP's or other health professionals and via Dudley Social Services.
Children with Disabilities Services support children and young people from birth to 18 years and their families/carers, where the child has a severe physical, sensory or learning disability or a long term complex health condition which seriously affects their daily living.
CYPA provides the overall leadership for the delivery of improved outcomes for children and young people in Dudley and their transition into adulthood.
Early Help is taking action early to provide support where problems are emerging for children, young people and their families. Early help support may be provided at any point in a child or young person’s life.
Families Come First is a Child in Need service within Dudley Council providing support to children up to the age of 17, alongside their parents and/or carers.
Information for children, young people and care leavers
We provide a number of support services for young carers who are under age 18 and provide care support for a relative with a long term illness, disability or who is older and frail.
As a care leaver you are entitled to a range of support, dependant on your age and circumstances, to help you plan your next steps to independence.
