Below is a list of all our consultations. Some may be ongoing, and some may have ended. The Traffic and Road Safety department want to hear your views and will enter details of their plans, background information and how to have your say.
Residents, councillors, MPs and council departments have raised concerns regarding some existing restrictions which need removing or altering to reflect current circumstances across the borough.
As part of Dudley Council's commitment to the safe movement of traffic (including pedestrians), various restrictions and revocations are proposed on the roads included in the proposed Orders listed below to address these concerns.
Any letters of objection and all written comments with respect to the proposed order should be emailed to traffic.consultation@dudley.gov.uk or addressed to:
Traffic Group Manager Traffic Management and Road Safety Dudley MBC Lister Road Depot Netherton Dudley DY2 8JW
stating the grounds on which they are made and should be received by no later than 10 December 2025.
As part of the Dudley’s Speed management scheme programme, Wolverhampton Road, Sedgley was identified as a priority route for intervention. This is to address the personal injury collisions and evidence of excessive speeding.
Proposed measures include:
Implementing central hatching along Wolverhampton Road with narrow running lanes to help reduce vehicular speeds.
Improved pedestrian side road crossing facilities.
Moving Give-way markings further out to provide better visibility from the side roads.
Refreshing existing highway restrictions.
Refreshed SLOW markings to warn drivers of approaching hazards.
New traffic islands with reflective bollards to highlight physical features and pedestrian crossing points.
Please provide any comments no later than Friday, 21st November 2025.
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, as part of the low carbon agenda relating to transport, is engaged in the Office for Low Emission Vehicle funded On Street Residential Charge point Scheme to create an electric vehicle charge point network across the borough. This project is to encourage the move to electric vehicles which should provide a cleaner environment.
Part of the project is to provide on street charging points on the streets where off street charging facilities are not available. The stay is restricted to 6 hours, no return in 6 hours, 6am to 6pm all days, while charging/topping up batteries, primarily aimed at residents and their visitors in the area.
The project is a trial and therefore an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) has been used to introduce the electric charging places and the use of the bay will be monitored.
Following a debate of Dudley MBC's Overview and Scrutiny Committee, proposals are being advertised for a reduction of the off-street parking charges.
The new parking charges will come into effect borough-wide and are being proposed to support Dudley traders and businesses and their customers.

When a School Street is in operation, the road temporarily becomes a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone, at school drop-off and pick-up times. By temporarily closing the road to motor vehicles at the start and end of the school day, School Streets help by:
Reducing traffic outside the school, which reduces emissions and makes the air around the school cleaner at peak times for children
Making it safer to walk, cycle, scoot, and wheel to school. Children will benefit from increased physical activity on their journey to and from school
Reducing traffic congestion and parking problems outside the school and reducing road danger
Parking restrictions require a Traffic Regulation Order and are installed to improve road safety and reduce congestion. View the Traffic Regulation Orders via our online map, including links to car park tariffs and limited waiting restriction times.
