At a time of loss, flowers are a sensitive and expressive way of comforting the bereaved - and of paying ones last respects to loved ones.
A flower room is provided at both crematoriums. The crematorium staff manage the floral tributes and these procedures are displayed around the crematorium. This is to ensure that there are always some vases available to accept new floral tributes. The introduction of private containers or vases is not permitted.
The crematorium staff manage the floral tributes on Fridays. Older flowers will be relocated in nearby flower tubs for a further week depending on weather conditions.
At extremely busy times of the year e.g. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas, it is impossible to accommodate all flowers within the buildings and it is wise to consider tributes which will withstand outdoor temperatures e.g. Holly wreaths at Christmas and pot Chrysanthemums in the Spring.
