Although the office may not be a particularly hazardous place to work, it would be a mistake to think that accidents never occur.
Office workers have, for example:
- been trapped in fires
- fallen from step ladders
- been electrocuted
- suffered ill-health from sick building syndrome
There is always an element of hazard which must be identified and guarded against by effective precautions and by safe working practices.
The HSE have recently published an online risk assessment for offices which takes around only 20 minutes to complete.
