The council’s equality strategy was agreed by the Cabinet in March 2022.
The strategy sets out 4 key themes, on how the council is approaching its equality commitments against the background of all the changes that the council has undergone during the last few years and the challenges that the council and the borough’s communities are facing in the future.
Equality work that has been undertaken by the council during 2020/21 is summarised in the report and appendices below due to the interim arrangements historically in place.
