By universal services we mean the kind of things that are available to all citizens across the borough. You do not need to come to adult social care services to use these. These might include:
Follow the links for more on these or look at the Dudley community information directory where hundreds of groups, agencies and services have listed their details.
Of course there will be some people with a long-term illness, a disability or who are older and frail who may need help to use these services and if that is so you may need to contact adult social care to see what support may be available.
If you are over 50, you might find some useful information on the Age UK Dudley website.
A large number of voluntary and community groups provide support across the Borough. See the voluntary organisations contact list for a selection of organisations that may be useful to you. Some of the websites are local, others national where there is not a local site.
There are many more groups across the borough. For a comprehensive list of groups providing ‘social care’ or other kinds of services, see the Dudley community information directory.
If you cannot find exactly what you are looking for there why not Google the illness or disability you want more information about. There may be a national organisation or helpline that can offer the information or support you need.
