We want all the separated young people who come to Dudley to feel safe, secure and well supported. We understand that you may have faced many challenges and experienced trauma during your journey to the UK, we are here to help you settle into your new home and community.
In order to ensure you are supported we will:
- ensure that you have accommodation while your immigration status remains unresolved
- support you to access legal representation in relation to your immigration status – unless you
are deemed to have had “Appeal Rights Exhausted” by the Home Office. - support you to make applications to the home office
- support you with access to education, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- ensure you receive weekly personal allowance payments while you are unable to access other forms of financial support
- support you to prepare for all outcomes of your asylum application through triple planning as part of your pathway plan
- provide translation services where required
- provide you with information about the voluntary returns service if this is something you would like
When you get the right to stay in the UK:
- We’ll support you to apply for British citizenship, up to the age of 21 years
- We’ll support you to obtain a travel document, up to the age of 21 years
Note: 'Appeal rights exhausted' (ARE) is an immigration status in the UK meaning that an individual has had their asylum claim refused and has exhausted all available avenues for appeal.
We have set up a group with other separated young people you can connect with and enjoy events together.
Please speak to your PA if you want to know more.
