An Emergency Protection Order is made when a child is likely to suffer significant harm.

  • This might be because someone has called the Police or Social Services if they are worried that the child is being hurt.
  • It could be because the child told someone like a teacher that he / she is being hurt.
  • The child might already be in a safe place, like a hospital, but an adult is threatening to remove the child.
  • It may be that the child is at risk but access to the child has been refused.
