From 1 September 2025, Dudley Local Authority’s SEND Team will be introducing a new way of working. This change will help to:

  • Make communication better and faster
  • Make sure the SEND Team is focusing on doing everything the law requires for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or undergoing a statutory assessment of need.

Key Changes

No more individual Case Officers

Children and Young People with an EHCP and their schools or colleges will no longer have their own named Case Officer.

Instead, all work will be handled by a central duty SEND team.

Senior Case Officers will also help to manage the work to make sure things are actioned quickly and effectively.

The process for submitting Annual Review paperwork and Statutory Assessment requests will stay the same. These should continue to be sent to senteam@dudley.gov.uk

How to contact the SEND Team

  • Phone: 01384 814360
    • Opening Hours:
      • Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
      • Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

There will be no voicemail facility so please call during these times. SEND Case Officers will answer your call and will try to help you on the same day that you call.

This inbox is for parents/carers, schools, and professionals and will be checked daily during office hours.

  • Post: Cable Plaza, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LW

From 1st September please do not contact individual Case Officers via email or phone as they will no longer be able to respond.

We are aware there may be some initial issues as we launch this model, and we will be working to identify these and adapt as quickly as possible. We have worked with our Parent Carers Forum to identify potential issues and there will be ongoing monitoring and review.

Thank you for working with us as we make these changes to support children and young people with SEND in Dudley.
