There is a range of postnatal infant feeding support available in Dudley, both in person and online.
Dudley Infant Feeding Team
Midwives, maternity support workers and and community breastfeeding support workers provide postnatal infant feeding support until your baby is 6 weeks old both on the ward and through home visits, telephone and video calls.

Dudley community breastfeeding support
Dudley community breastfeeding support workers are available for home visits, virtual video support and telephone support. They are part of the Dudley Infant Feeding Team based at Russells Hall Hospital.

Dudley Health Visiting Team
The Health Visiting Team and Family Nurse Partnership for young parents provide infant feeding support through home visits, telephone advice, child health clinics and the wider community.
Infant Feeding information and support will be offered at all the visits below:
- Antenatal contact at 28 weeks pregnant and above
- New Birth Visit
- 6-8 week Health Visitor review
- 9-12 month health and development review
- 2-2.5 year health and development review
The Health Visitors and the Family Nurse Partnership can also loan out breast pumps.
Health Visitors run regular ‘Introduction to Solids’ workshops for parents and carers.

Dudley Family Hubs
Hub Practitioners are trained to support with infant feeding antenatally and postnatally. Midwives and Health Visitors are based in the hubs to offer advice, guidance and specialist support. Clinic appointments are also available within the hubs.

Infant feeding peer support
The New Baby Network runs local infant feeding peer support groups. Led by trained infant feeding peer supporters these friendly postnatal groups offer support with all types of infant feeding, as well as being a lovely space to meet and hang out with other parents!
